Geof has been directly involved in the arts for many years as a teacher in West Yorkshire.
As a founder member & Chairman of the Kirklees Arts Action Group & Eastthorpe Studio & Gallery in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, he was involved in promoting the work of artists, colleagues and students.
A Parish Councillor for about twenty years and Chairman of Kirkburton Parish Council on two occasions.
A teacher of Art & Design for over thirty-five years in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, he retired from teaching in 2005 to paint full time in his Kirkburton Studio.
The anticipated move to the Borders in 2000 was delayed until 2010, but meanwhile Geof has exhibited regularly at the "buyDesign" Gallery.
When he and Chris finally arrived in Ancrum, where they had friends and contacts of over 15 years, they built the studio on to their home: Southernknowe.
He became involved with the "Crossing Borders Art Trail" and has enjoyed three successful Open Studio Weekends in 2011, 2012 & 2013
Another Open Studio was during the Art @ Ancrum Weekend in 2013 which looks to become an annual event in early May each year.
