The paintings are inspired by the Scottish Borders and Northumberland landscape and in particular by the "big skies" and infinite variety of the instantly changeable weather conditions.
The landscapes are not strictly pictorial interpretations but incorporate added elements from geographical, geological and pre-historical influences.
More abstract than attempts to record accurate detail they are derived from observations made during walking the surrounding area of the beautiful Borders countryside.
The paintings are acrylics on canvas, but some of the work have added detail of collage, surface texture and mixed media.
