Gerard Henry
We have at least two authors in our village of Ancrum.
Gerard Henry has just published his latest book for young people; "Rory's Eagle".
I will have signed copies available during my open studio on the weekend of the "Crossing Borders Art Trail". Friday 29th - Sunday 31st, August 2014.
Peter Flannery may have his new book ready for next years Art@Ancrum in May of 2015
Rory Baird is a young warden on a Highland Estate.
Way back in 1810, a young lad killed one of the very last White-tailed Sea Eagles left on the east coast of the Highlands. Within a few years they had become totally extinct throughout the whole east coast. That boy was a distant relative of Rory's.
It is now 2014 and a closely guarded secret that a pair of these mighty eagles have returned to Glencrevie Estate. It is essential that they are kept safe and allowed to breed in peace. Only then will Scotland's biggest eagles be back throughout the range where they truly belong. By helping to re-establish them, Rory hopes that he will at least have made some amends for the extinction caused by his ancestor.
.....but news has reached a rich and obsessive egg collector!
